Castlevania Gets Funky New International Poster

Last week, Netflix released the first trailer for the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Konami's classic dark fantasy-themed action adventure videogame franchise Castlevania, showing off great animation and awesome late 90's anime art style.

Now, to add to the hype, Netflix has released a funky international poster reminding fans of the older games in the Castlevania franchise (via Famitsu). Featuring the whip-wielding hero along with the series villain and a dark castle towering in the background, the international poster is certainly more retro compared to the domestic marketing material Netflix rleased in the US.

A recreation of the original 1986 Castlevania videogame's cover art, the poster suggests that the animated series really won't stray far away from the source material. Though fans were disappointed that the project was an animation instead of a live-action series, a lot of fans are still pretty psyched to see the series. After all, animation does capture the urgency and cartoonish violence of the franchise.

Castlevania premieres on Netflix on July 7.
