Though Marvel is considered the more successful of the two, the DCEU has an upper hand in the fact that they were the first superhero franchise to have a movie with a female lead. Now the MCU is working on their version of Wonder Woman, and lead actress Brie Larson has been spotted on the set of what looks to be Captain Marvel.

Based on the caption, I have a feeling that Larson is shooting a cameo appearance in Avengers 4, seeing that production for that film in happening in Atlanta. It would be funny that she would be working on this movie first because even though Avengers 4 has started production before Captain Marvel, CM is still slated to come out two months before Avengers 4 hits theaters.
Just like Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel will also be a period piece, but it's set to take place in a nearer timeline: the 1990s. It's also said that we will see a younger version of Nick Fury in the film with both eyes still intact. I just have my fingers crossed that young Nick will look just like Jules in Pulp Fiction.
Hopefully Marvel Studios gives us an official look of Larson in costume soon. For now, we'll just have to wait.
Captain Marvel is set for a release on March 9, 2019.
