Bleach Creator Shows Off New Baddie for Spinoff Novel

It seems that Bleach is one of those manga franchise that will forever live on in our hearts despite the end of both its manga and anime runs.

Then again it helps that a spinoff novel is in the works, care of Durarara!! creator Ryohgo Narita. To commemorate the upcoming novelization, Bleach – Can't Fear Your Own World, the mangaka released a new artwork that features the main character, Hisagi Shuhei of Squad 9 and the other vice captains and Arrancars, but also two new characters in the background.

These two new characters (as per Crunchyroll's translation) is the new villain Tokinada Tsunayoshiro and his protégé Hikone. Tsunayoshiro looks pretty sinister, similar to Aizen when he transformed, alongside that swept hair to the back. What differs in design is that he has a braid running down the left side of his head to the back, and his hair is more disheveled than wavy.

The protégé looks very young and very cheerful, almost childlike in appearance (she probably is). Based on the design, I'd assume she's a girl, and her weapon is an impressive long sword. The duo kind of reminds me of Kenpachi and Yachiru, though Kenpachi would make for a far more sinister villain, if you ask me.

Bleach – Can't Fear Your Own World will be out as a serialized manga collection on August 4 via Jump j Books.
