Aquaman Finalizing Role For Award-Winning Actress Nicole Kidman

It looks like Australian actress and film producer Nicole Kidman may be joining the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) family soon.

Nominated for an award in this year's Oscars for her work in Garth Davis' feature debut Lion, new reports reveal that the Academy Award winning celebrity is currently in negotiation with DC about a role in the DCEU's Aquaman. According to The Hollywood Reporter Kidman is being tapped to play the role of the mother of Jason Mamoa's Aquaman in the King of Atlantis' first standalone film.

Apparently Kidman has been Aquaman director James Wan's top contender for the part for weeks and an official offer for the actress is going out on Monday next week.

If she does take the offer, it will be the actress' second time playing a role in a DC film. Back in 1995 Kidman played Dr. Chase Meridian, the love interest of Val Kilmer's Bruce Wayne in Batman Forever. With her regal looks and her tone of voice, it would definitely be interesting to see Kidman as the King of Atlantis' mother in Aquaman.

Aquaman is slated for release on the big screen on October 5, 2018.
