An Old Star Wars Comic Book Spoils The Last Jedi, Says Mark Hamill

As we get closer to the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, some fans have been searching for details that would spoil the story for the highly-anticipated sequel. Now, Mark Hamill has taken it to Twitter to warn fans not to look at a certain comic book before The Last Jedi hits the big screen.

The Marvel comic book he's referring to its Star Wars #49: The Last Jedi by Mike Barr, Tom Palmer, Walt Simonson, Don Warfield, Christie Scheele, and Shelby Leferman. The fact that it shares the same title to the movie could suggest that there's a connection between the two but it's probably Hamill just misdirecting fans. It was released in April 1981, and it's set after the events of The Empire Strikes Back.

Here's the synopsis that Comicbook.com shared:

The comic deals with a damaged alien named Jedidiah who had the potential to become a Jedi Knight. Jedidiah accompanied his friend, the prince of the planet Velmor and heir to the throne.
Luke and Leia must return Jedidiah and the prince to their home planet before another is coronated, one who sympathizes with the Empire. Jedidiah sacrifices himself to save Luke Skywalker.

The plot for The Last Jedi has been kept under wraps but I don't think it will involve Jeddiah. If Hamill really didn't want anything spoiled from the film, he most likely wouldn't point out a source that actually contains spoilers.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to release in theaters on December 15, 2017.
