Laftel, a Korean animation OTT service, produced the Semantic Error anime, which ran from March 12, 2021, to April 1, 2021. It is a four-episode anime with a runtime of four minutes each.

Semantic Error tells the story of Chu Sang-Woo, an uptight and incredibly organized Computer Science student, and the ever-popular Jang Jae-Young of the Department of Visual Design at Hanguk University.

It all began with Sang-Woo, who decided to present a group project in a two-credit pre-requisite subject by himself.

He didn’t think twice about erasing the names of his fellow groupmates since they didn’t participate in the project at all.

This includes Jang Jae-Young, who aims to graduate and study abroad. As a result, Jae-Young lost his once-in-a-lifetime opportunity because of Sang-Woo’s strict standards.

In a sudden turn of events, Sang-Woo has to work with Jae-Young on a game he wants to develop.

Will their partnership be fruitful, or will it lead to something else?

The title of Semantic Error episode 4 is April Fool’s Day, and it begins with Sang-Woo coming home to Jae-Young.

Sang-Woo finds a post-it note on the door, which reads "Treasure Island". He tries to open the door, but it is locked.

He finds another note asking him to look inside the kitchen cupboard, but what he notices is a pile of dirty dishes.

Sang-Woo then finds another note telling him to look inside the shoe closet. What awaits him is another note telling him to shout the name of his favorite person three times.

Of course, Sang-Woo did what he was asked to. He later receives a key to a room where he discovers a magic lamp. He rubs the lamp, and Jae-Young appears, saying that he is the lamp’s genie.

As the lamp’s genie, Jae-Young grants Sang-Woo a chance to wish three times. First, Sang-Woo wished for Jae-Young to clean the dishes.

Second, Sang-Woo asked Jae-Young to organize the shoe closet, and third, he asked for Jae-Young’s freedom.

In the end, Jae-Young and Sang-Woo took their time showing their love and affection for one another.
