Daisy Ridley Describes The Difference Between The Force Awakens and Episode VIII In Q&A

Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley, who played Rey in The Force Awakens, has appeared today in a half-hour long Facebook Live video to answer quite a handful of questions that fans have been dying to ask the 23-year-old actress.

The live Q&A session is jam-packed with nuggets of information about The Force Awakens, but mostly it’s filled with facts about Ridley’s experiences and thoughts on the movie.

From choosing between tea and coffee, to pranks played on set, to what the Jakku space bread tasted like, to how her life has changed since being cast as Rey, the interview is complete with random questions but at the same time very informative.

The entire session looks fun and entertaining, and the actress appears like she’s enjoying answering fan questions as much as she loves being in the franchise. There’s even one question that led to a whole range of other facts unrelated to the question because of host Andi Gutierrez.

My favorite answer of hers is her advice to aspiring actors, with her closing statement quoting Master Yoda’s famous words to Luke: “Do or do not, there is no try.” Once again, it shows the actress’ strength as a person and an artist and it shows how grounded she remains despite her shot to fame.

Although I believe that the highlight of the interview is aptly the last part, where she was asked which film she enjoyed working on more – Episode VII or Episode VIII.

The actress answered:

They are two very different things. Episode VII was like the beginning of the whole thing, and it was terrifying and incredibly rewarding, and I felt like I pushed myself beyond boundaries I thought I had. And now [on Episode VIII], I feel more together and I feel more present.
It's all this incredible journey. And if I am in Episode IX, it's all one amazing journey that involves thousands of people--not that it's leading to the end of Episode IX, but the whole thing is this wonderful, joyous experience. And I think of 7, 8, and 9 as parts of one experience. They're not like three different ones.
