2 Clips From Ridley Scott's 'The Martian' - 'Checks Out' & 'Storm Report'

Two new clips from Ridley's Scott's The Martian have been released. The first one shows Donald Glover explaining his scientific plan to accomplish their mission, and the second follows the crew of the Ares 3 implementing an evacuation  when a big storm on Mars hits them. That reminds me of that dust storm scene from Ridley Scott's other sci-fi film, Prometheus. I still have yet to read Andy Weir's novel from which this movie is based from. Check out the clips and synopsis below.

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (
Matt Damon
) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring “the Martian” home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible rescue mission. As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney’s safe return.
Based on a best-selling novel, The Martian features a star-studded cast that also includes Jessica Chastain (Interstellar,
Zero Dark Thirty)
, Kristen Wiig (Welcome to Me, The Skeleton Twins), Kate Mara (“House of Cards,” Fantastic Four), Michael Pena (Fury, End of Watch),
Jeff Daniels
(“The Newsroom,” Dumb and Dumber To), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, Children of Men) and Donald Glover (“Community,” Mystery Team).

The Martian opens in theaters on October 6.
