Iron Man a.k.a. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) bid goodbye in the franchise when he sacrificed himself to save everyone else and died in Avengers: Endgame. However, several of Iron Man's fans are still hoping that he will return and they are asking if there are chances for Marvel to bring the genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist superhero back.

Marvel could bring Iron Man back in Phase 4

A now-deleted listing on Amazon showed a brand new Lego set made for What If...? show. The Lego set is titled Tony Stark's Sakaarian Iron Man.

It features a brand new Hulkbuster armor that Stark will develop on Sakkar. The Tony Stark episode will tell the viewers what would have happened if Iron Man ended up on Sakkar in Thor: Ragnarok.

The Hulkbuster can also transform into a race car. The Lego set comes with three minifigs — Tony Stark, Valkyrie, and The Watcher.

The Tony Star set is a confirmation that Rober Downey Jr. might appear in Phase 4 as Iron Man, Yahoo! Entertainment reported. However, fans should note that RDJ isn't returning for an action film, he could just be lending his voice for the animated version of Tony Stark on What If...?

Multiverse Could Bring Tony Stark Back

Several Marvel movies are already using the multiverse concept, including Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

When exploring alternative realities, the storytellers are free to take on anyone, including Iron Man. It also lets the actor play a new character that is still familiar to the audience but with a whole different concept.

For instance, it can portray Tony Stark who sides with evil. Or it can show Stark when he was kidnapped and held in a cave for a month. No matter what scene, bringing back Tony Spark a.k.a Iron Man via multiverse will be exciting to the audience.

Tony Stark Can Return Using Time Travel or Flashback

Time travel is another active tool in MCU. In the original Marvel Studio series, Loki, time travel will be used to showcase different timelines.

Tony has been present in many films, but not every moment of his waking life has been shown on screen. Using time travel can showcase big happening from his life years before his death.

It's also possible to make Iron Man or Tony Stark appear in flashbacks. He has been present in various films and has touched the lives of the people around him.

For instance, he has been a father figure for Tom Holland's Peter Parker. Iron Man and Spider-Man shared a unique bond. Spider-Man was noticeably upset following Iron Man's death and bringing him back in No Way Home is a great way to bring back the beloved Avenger.

Introduce a new Iron Man?

Another way to bring back Iron Man is to introduce a new character that will continue his legacy. It can be a new superhero or character.

There are rumors that Iron Lad (Ty Simpkins) from New Avengers will be the next Iron Man. He has been part of the franchise as the Harley, the little boy who appeared in Iron Man 3. He returned in Avengers: Endgame for Iron Man's funeral.

There are also speculations that Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) will be the next Iron Man. Williams is a new superhero named Iron Woman or Ironheart. She will be introduced in Black Panther.
