Avatar The Last Airbender's New Movies and Series are Still Years Away

Earlier this year, Paramount announced that it's creating a new studio to work on a new Avatar The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra animated series and movies to revisit the beloved franchise, but fans will have to wait longer before they can revisit the universe of Aang and Kora.

In a recent interview with Rise Up Animation (via Avatar News), an organization "providing support to all People of Color with the goal of helping diverse talent Rise Up in the Animation Industry", Avatar Studios co-chief creative officer Bryan Kontiezko talked about what they're up to since their studio was formed, and confirmed that fans will have to wait years to see the new movies and TV series while describing the current team being formed.

"Mike and I, we're building an awesome team very slowly at Avatar Studios, a small team but we're working our way up," Kontiezko said. "It'll be years before that stuff's out but we're so excited to share all that with everybody. We've got a bunch of cool stuff in the works."

It was recently reveald that the upcoming films will revisit the universe of Avatar The Last Airbender, and The Legend of Korra will be created using computer-generation animation, marking a huge departure from the two-dimensional animation of the original shows.
