Zack Snyder Talks About Justice League Movie's Differences from Batman v. Superman

Zack Snyder talked about how he felt the upcomingJustice League movie will have a "different tone" than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in an interview with IGN. He stated that he "really wanted the tone of the three movies to be different chapters and not be the same note". He also admitted to being influenced by some of the criticism Batman v Superman had recieved in making the movie, saying, "I do think that the tone has, because of what fans have said and how the movie was received by some, is that we have kind of put the screws to what we thought the tone would be and I feel crushed it that little bit further".

When discussing the less-than-stellar reception Batman v Superman had from some critics (you can read Dave Gigg's review of the movie here), Snyder admitted he was a little affected, saying "when Batman v Superman first came out, I was like, "Wow, okay, woof." It did catch me off-guard. I kind of felt like -- and I have had to, in my mind, make an adjustment, and maybe it is my hardcore take on characters as far as I love them, and I love the material."

Snyder also discussed a fun scene between Batman and the Flash he'd shown the IGN crew, saying "I think Bruce Wayne has this kind of Batman humor that's not the same as -- you could say he's the straight guy, you know? It's what he's good at. When I saw the scene -- we just cut it together the other day -- I was like, 'Oh God, this is fun.'". He called Justice League a "team building" movie and implied there would be a heavy focus on character interaction.

Snyder also talked about the eventual return of Superman, though he was evasive, stating that he's "not saying" Superman will show up in the Justice League movie. He also teased that we might see the infamous Super-Mullet the Man of Steel got after returning from the Death of Superman event in the comics, saying his hair could be "a little longer! That's what the myths say anyway". He also talked a little about his characterization of Superman and said Batman v Superman had the character solidify his morality and the way he felt about humanity.

I'm one of those people who found Batman v Superman a little dull and dour, so I'm glad to hear that Snyder is listening to the criticism and conciously trying to make the tone of this movie a little different. What do you think of Snyder's interview? Are you looking forward to the Justice League movie?
