One of the most passionate fans in the world are comic book fans, and one couple who are fans of Captain America took their fandom to the next level by getting engaged at Wizard World Philadelphia – in front of Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan!
Of course, it was all John Felix's plan for his girlfriend at the time, now fiancé, Natasha Marrero.
Felix's proposal took place during a photo op with Sebastian Stan at Wizard World Philadelphia, where the couple went to in celebration of their first date's first year anniversary.
For Natasha, she's as surprised as Stan, writing in her blog on Tumblr (h/t Comicbook.com) that she had no idea what was going on. She wrote:
I had no idea what was happening. My fiancé planned it out over a span of 3 months and kept it super secret. It was the 1 year anniversary of our first date and he knows how much I love Sebastian and Bucky, so he thought there would be no better time to do this!
The Winter Soldier-cosplaying couple were able to take two photos with the Civil War actor, the first of which shows Natasha hugging Stan as her then boyfriend looked disappointed on the side. Well, the second photo reveals a quick turnaround, as John suddenly went down on one knee to propose while Natasha and Sebastian looked shocked.
Natasha said further in her blog:
...his reaction in the pictures is absolutely genuine as are mine.
Obviously, Natasha said yes, and they even invited the actor to the wedding as a thank you.
It's unknown whether Stan will attend the wedding, but anything is possible. Stan may surprise them at the wedding with his Winter Soldier costume on, although I'm pretty sure they'll have their own Winter Soldier cosplayer present at the wedding, if the theme isn't Winter Soldier already.
