Will There Be Another Jumanji Movie? 2021 Updates and Everything We Know So Far

The game that will take you to another place with a quest of a lifetime, Jumanji has been entertaining through the films since 1995 with the late Robin Williams facing jungle-based hazards to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson taking over in 2017, two decades after, and even followed by another in 2019, will there be another Jumanji movie?

Jumanji follows the plot of a game of the same name which releases jungle-based hazards. Alan Parrish, a boy in 1969 got trapped in the game with Sarah Whittle, his friend, and when siblings Judy and Peter Shepherd found the game 26 years after, they were released only to play the game once more. It was later found by a teenager in 1996, Alex Vreeke, and it became a video game cartridge, seemingly adapting to technology.

Present-day, Spencer Gilpin, Anthony "Fridge" Johnson, Martha Kaply, and Bethany Walker got detention and they found Jumanji. When they played, they became characters in the game. They realized that they have to finish the quest before being able to leave. They met Alex, stuck in Jumanji for 20 years, and they finally complete the mission to be able to exit the game.

However, in the next film, they came back for it as Spencer lost contact with all of them and his friends went back into Jumanji with the grandfather of Spencer and his friend. Their characters interchanged and, in the end, someone got left behind in Jumanji, a heartfelt farewell.

Jumanji surely is a franchise successful in terms of the box office and with that, there is no surprise that there would be a Jumanji 4, one that is already confirmed by none other than the president of the Seven Bucks Productions, Hiram Garcia, in an interview with ComicBook.com, and according to him, it is 100% happening.

Still, with Jumanji 4 being hit by the pandemic in its early stages, there is no definite release date yet for the said film. What it would be about is also in the shadows as it is too early to tell where the story would be going. The Rock is expected to make his return along with Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and their teenage counterparts, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Madison Iseman, and Ser'Darius Blain. Also, possible to reprise their roles would be Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, and Colin Hanks.
