Update: Lucasfilm has yet to confirm the leaked release date.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian took the Star Wars fanbase by storm when the series made its big premiere in November last year. Set five years after the fall of the Empire in Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Jon Favreau's live-action Star Wars series won over fans with a captivating story and an irresistible mascot – the doe-eyed Force-sensitive child, Baby Yoda.

Star Wars fans have long since been anticipating the second season of The Mandalorian, and while the series is expected to return sometime in October, it hasn't been given a complete release date. Until now, that is.

The complete release date for Star Wars: The Mandalorian S02 has begun making the rounds on Twitter. According to Star Wars leaker @ScoutTheTrooper, the next batch of Mandalorian episodes is set to premiere on Disney+ on October 7, 2020.

Though Lucasfilm has yet to confirm the date, this new report comes after Disney's Q3 earnings call yesterday wherein the company announced its decision to release its live-action adaptation of Mulan on Disney+ after multiple delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

There's a lot of excitement building up over Season 2 of The Mandalorian. The last time that we got to see Baby Yoda and Mando (Pedro Pascal), the two had escaped Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) by the skin of their teeth. Not only that, but the season finale of the series revealed that Gideon had the darksaber, a Mandalorian relic that has no place with the Imperial officer.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 is coming out this October on Disney+.
