Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away is Coming to a Close

Disney's Star Wars theme park Galaxy's Edge might finally be picking up in Disneyland Park and in Hollywood Studios, but it looks like the Mickey Mouse House's older Star Wars Disneyland show is going to come to a close this month.

According to WDW News Today, Disney's Star Wars stage show Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away is going to come to an official end later this month at Walt Disney World in Orlando. The final performances are going to take place on February 22.

This may come as disappointing news to fans. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge has only been running for a few months, and now, Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away is going to close its doors. The stage show featured a host of fan-favorite characters from the Star Wars franchise. That included Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, and Rey. Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away ran for about four years, launching in 2016 and taking place in the Hollywood Studios section of Walt Disney World right in front of the park's Chinese theater.

Perhaps Disney felt that there's no longer a need for A Galaxy Far, Far Away now that Galaxy's Edge is driving up traffic in Disneyland. The attraction was meant to inspire excitement for the franchise before Galaxy's Edge, and now that the theme park's doors are open, Disney has no use for the Star Wars stage show.

It's really such a shame. The show could have been integrated into Galaxy's Edge.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently screening in cinemas.
