Mike Colter On Luke Cage’s Status In Avengers: Endgame

Marvel fans were pretty heartbroken when they heard the news that Netflix axed Luke Cage. While its second season was a big miss, Mike Colter's Marvel Netflix series was a big hit when its first season premiered. While there's still no word on whether or not the series will find its way to another network, Colter's been updating fans about Luke Cage's fate after Thanos' snappening in Avengers: Infinity War.

Colter spoke with ComicBook.com ahead of his appearance at the upcoming Wizard World convention in New Orleans over the weekend. During his interview with the publication, the actor decided to open up about the Power Man's fate in light of the recent events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after he was asked about the possibility of Luke Cage finding his way in Avengers: Endgame.

"Am I in Avengers: Endgame?" Colter started out. "Well, you know what? Based off what happened, I'm already dead, the snap has already happened with Luke Cage. We're dead, we're already gone! I hate to break it down, break people's... but no, no, we're not."

It seems like Cage might have been one of the victims of Thanos' snappening after all, taking his place together with other Marvel heroes like Tom Holland's Spider-Man, Sebastian Stan's Bucky, Vin Diesel's Groot, and so many, many others.

Of course, Colter's response doesn't come as a surprise. Even without Luke Cage's cancellation, it's highly unlikely that the Power Man would have ever made it into Endgame consider Marvel TV's relationship with Marvel Studios. For now, the Defenders inclusion in the MCU remains nothing but wishful thinking.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
