Marvel Writer Finds Himself in Racial Confrontation in NY Park in Viral Video

It looks like a Marvel comic book writer and editor has become the victim of racial confrontation in a now-viral video.

Marvel Comics Presents Stories and Darkhold comic book writer Christian Cooper just recently found himself in a racial confrontation while bird watching in New York Central Park together with his sister, Omni comic book writer Melody Cooper.

While strolling in the park, Christian Cooper asked a woman, identified as Amy Cooper (no relation), to leash her dog in an area of the park where pets have to be kept under control. The Marvel comic book writer decided to film the encounter.

You can check out the video down here:

In the video, Amy Cooper, a VP at Franklin Templeton Investments (FTI) refused to listen to Christian Cooper's request, telling the comic book writer to stop filming her and her dog. The woman then threatened Christian Cooper, saying that she would call the police and tell them that an African-American man threatened her. The Franklin Templeton Investments VP then proceeds to call the police while on camera when Christian Cooper refuses to stop filming.

Christian Cooper continued filming until Amy Cooper finally leashed her dog, telling the woman "thank you."

The incident went viral on social media. Ashamed by her actions, Amy Cooper decided to surrender the dog to a shelter. The VP was put on administrative leave. Amy Cooper issued a public apology through an interview with NBC New York, saying that her threat was "unacceptable."

It's great to see that racism has been dealt with some sort of justice.
