Marvel Insider Claims Disney and Sony Have New Spider-Man Deal

Disney and Sony may have finally come to an agreement on how to use Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, there are reports going around saying that the studios may be forming a new deal for everyone's favorite wall-crawler.

According to Marvel insider Roger Wardell, Marvel fans may expect a new Spider-Man agreement between Disney and Sony. While Sony is aware that it is unable to compete with Disney, especially with COVID-19 causing major hurdles in the entertainment industry, Disney understands that the Spider-Man film franchise can be very profitable.

"Disney understands the money-making powers of Spider-Man while Sony is aware of being completely unable to compete with the Mouse at the moment. New agreement should please many Marvel fans," Wardell wrote in a tweet.

While Wardell doesn't provide any details about this "new agreement," it's possible that Disney and Sony are cooking up a scheme that's going to allow Tom Holland's version of Spider-Man to stay longer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After all, the original deal that the studios arranged have Spider-Man sticking around for at least two more movies, one of which is Spider-Man 3. If Disney and Sony come to a new arrangement, it's probably going to allow Spider-Man to stay throughout Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the MCU. We're also guessing that the new deal will allow Peter Parker to appear in the movies in Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters.

Let's cross our fingers and wait and see what comes of this "new arrangement."
