Mark Hamill Talks About Giving Away Star Wars: Episode IX Hints And Teases

Mark Hamill isn't just a Star Wars legend, he's a notorious joker too (pun intended), pulling pranks on the gullible Star Wars fanbase. Now, as his final film in the Star Wars franchise comes closer to its premiere, Lucasfilm's Luke Skywalker talks about playing around with fans and with Disney execs while waiting for Star Wars: Episode IX.

Sitting down for an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on the late night show Jimmy KimmelLive, Hamill admits that he's been playing around with Disney's higher-ups, saying that he loves driving everyone crazy because at the end of the day "what are they gonna do, fire me?"

"Well, you know I love driving the Disney executives crazy. 'Cause what are they gonna do, fire me? I'm in that really calming lull between the time after you make the movie and before it comes out," Hamill said in his little chit-chat with Kimmel, "They don't want you to say anything. And I'm good at that. But like I say on my Twitter account, people are constantly saying 'When's the trailer dropping? What's the title?' Like they're gonna -- they wouldn't tell me that. I play dumb. I say, 'They made another Star Wars movie?' Nobody tells me anything."

Admittedly, Hamill is great at trolling fans online. Before the release of The Last Jedi, Hamill played up the fan theory that Luke Skywalker would be heading down the path of the dark side- all because of the character's placement in the film's poster. He also led fans to believe that Luke was somehow Finn's (John Boyega). Earlier this week, he dropped the "trailer" for Episode IX, which was a picture of his literal trailer van.

Ah. What would life be without our favorite Joker.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
