Mark Hamill Says He’s Just Like The Star Wars Fanbase

Knowing its impact as the largest and most popular science fiction franchise in Hollywood history, it barely comes as a surprise finding Star Wars being followed by a massive fanbase. However, while a large following does have its merits, the Star Wars fanbase has been populated by some traditional individuals who've been inadvertently bashing newer entries like Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Though this sort of sense of entitlement can be rather troubling especially when fans want the films to go their way, Star Wars legend Mark Hamill says that he doesn't feel too bad about the Star Wars fanbase because his description of the fanbase reflects so much of himself.

"I was once describing Star Wars fans, and I said, they're passionate, they're opinionated, and they feel a sense of ownership, because they've invested so much time in these characters and these stories, and I realized I was describing myself," the Star Wars actor said in an interview with Movie Web," It can get you into trouble, because I don't control the storylines. I'm sort of like a musician. I read the music, and I try to play it to the best of my ability. That doesn't necessarily mean I like the tune, but that's not my job."

Hamill's probably always felt an obligation to the fanbase, so it doesn't come as a surprise to see how involved and how passionate the actor is especially when it comes to the franchise.

Based on the comments, the actor is rubbing his hands free of Star Wars: Episode IX, the third and final film in the sequel trilogy. What do you think we're going to see in Episode IX? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Star Wars: Episode IX debuts on December 20, 2019.
