While Lucasfilm has been keeping a tight lid on its plans for the franchise, there have been various rumors here and there about the studio's upcoming trilogies and the plans for its upcoming series. Now, as Star Wars fans anticipate the release of the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, a new report suggests that Lucasfilm is planning to have its TV shows connect to one another so that it creates a larger narrative in the galaxy far, far away.
According to LRM Online, Lucasfilm plans to debut one new season of a Disney+ series per quarter beginning mid-2021. These new projects are reportedly going to intertwine with the events of The Mandalorian – not only is Lucasfilm reportedly going to develop a brand new series for Ahsoka Tano, but it's also planning to develop separate shows for Boba Fett, Ezra Bridger, and Grand Admiral Thrawn.
LRM Online also claims that Lucasfilm is planning to set Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels showrunner Dave Filoni in charge of the intertwining narratives.
As interesting as this new rumor might seem, we advise fans to take the report with a large grain of salt. Lucasfilm hasn't announced any kind of series for Ahsoka, Ezra, or Admiral Thrawn. All of the series that the studio's announced are the Rogue One spinoff focused on Captain Cassian Andor, the series set for Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the series that the studio is developing together with Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland.
Let's wait and see whether Lucasfilm makes any sort of official announcement confirming the reported "interconnected TV series" for Star Wars.
