Kumail Nanjiani’s Workouts For The Eternals Included Electric Shocks

A whole lot of Marvel fans might have been stunned when Silicon Valley actor Kumail Nanjiani revealed his transformation to play Kingo in The Eternals, but what most don't know is how hard the actor had to work so that he could achieve his body goals.

Speaking in an interview with Men's Health (Via Metro) to help promote The Eternals, Nanjiani was asked about his workout regimen for the film. Apparently, working out was something entirely new to the actor. Before Eternals, Nanjiani didn't really know what it was like to work out until he started working out for the movie.

"I realized if this is what working out is, I've never really worked out a moment in my life," the actor told the publication.

Apparently, Nanjiani had to go undergo an intense gym routine and a strict diet that restricted his intake of sugar and gluten that would have him eat at least five times a day. The actor's work out sessions were so intense that he would have to have electric shocks in his biceps just to help him build muscle. He'd be left nearly vomiting after his workouts every day.

If that isn't dedication, we don't know what is.

Nanjiani is playing the role of Kingo in The Eternals and is starring alongside Game of Thrones actor Kit Harrington and Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie. Kingo in the movie is going to be an Eternal who disguises himself as a Bollywood star to blend in with people.

The Eternals is set to premiere on November 6, 2020.
