Hugh Jackman on Wolverine’s ‘Most Beautiful Line’ in the X-Men Franchise

Hugh Jackman has had quite a career in the X-Men film franchise, and while the actor has had so many great moments as Wolverine, it's hard to deny the profound depth and power of James Hewlett's swan song in Logan.

While the movie in itself spoke depths, Jackman thinks that one particular line in the film is the "most beautiful" thing that he's said as Wolverine, and it turns out to be Logan's last line in the movie.

Speaking in an interview with Variety together with Anne Hathaway for a short Le Miserables reunion, Jackman got to talking about his career and his history playing Wolverine for 20th Century Fox's X-Men film franchise.

"I did nine movies," Jackman told the entertainment news outlet, "But a couple were cameo-ish sort of things. Really, seven movies. I learned so much over those years. I feel so blessed to have the part, and I'm taking on a character that's so beloved to so many. I'll commit to that every day of the week, right? I'll give 110%."

Though he's had a lot of experience as Wolverine, Jackman says that the last scene of Logan had hit him the hardest.

"The last scene of Logan, for example, where my character is dying, I think one of the most beautiful lines written for the character, which is, 'Ah, so this is what it feels like,'" the actor said.

It's a profound line because, in Logan, Wolverine had been slowly losing his accelerated healing factor. The line hits hard knowing that Wolverine really is dying, and not for himself, but in an act to protect X-23 (Dafne Keen) and a group of young mutants on the run.
