Fantastic Four’s Josh Trank Leaves Twitter After Making Jabs at Marvel

It looks like Josh Trank has decided to avoid confrontation after posting a controversial tweet slamming Marvel movies.

Earlier today, Fantastic Four reboot director Josh Trank decided to post on Twitter after seeing the opening act of Martin Scorsese's new crime movie, The Irishman. The movie just recently made its debut on Netflix, and after seeing the first five minutes of the film, Trank couldn't help but go on Twitter (via ComicBook.com) to say that the first five minutes of Scorsese's new film actually hade "more humanity and truth and cinematic intrigue" then the running length of every other movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Naturally, Trank received a whole lot of responses to his tweet. While there were some who agreed with the Fantastic Four director, others vehemently opposed the post, defending Marvel and Marvel movies. Some even went as far as making jabs at the filmmaker's Fantastic Four, reminding Trank that the film flopped very hard at the box office.

Trank tried to stand his ground by tweeting out that he didn't really need anyone to "film history, film appraisal, art, professional risks, personal growth, and/ or understanding fairness to films/art/self-expression."

According to the filmmaker "real film lovers understand and fux with me," so he doesn't really need anyone else.

Despite his strong stance against Marvel, it seems like Trank has decided to leave the social media battle early because the director has seemingly left Twitter. A quick search of Trank's account will leave one empty-handed – it seems like the filmmaker just couldn't take the fire. His tweets are no longer available as well.

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins with Black Widow which premieres on May 1, 2020.
