Sure it might not be a trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX, but it looks like Disney has a teensy little treat for the Star Wars fan base this Christmas season, dropping a brand new trailer for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The Mickey Mouse House rolled out a brand new teaser for the Star Wars theme park attraction during the Disney Parks Christmas Parade yesterday, giving Star Wars fans fresh new details about what to expect from the upcoming Star Wars theme park.
Not only does the video give fans a closer look at the Star Wars attraction, but it also offers interviews with the team that’s been working on the theme park project including Lucasfilm Story Group Vice President Carrie Beck.
"It will be jaw-dropping and incredibly emotional to walk into the land for the first time, to actually be standing there amongst the buildings, amongst the ships and have this feeling that it is all real, that it has been brought to life, and it is right there in front of you. It's overwhelming,” Beck said in her interview for the trailer.
Focusing on two distinct experiences in Galaxy’s Edge, the trailer offers up new info about “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run” and “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.”
“Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run” allows theme park guests to either serve as the pilot, gunner, engineer or team member of the Millennium Falcon.
“The experience on Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run puts you straight in the cockpit right behind the controls,” says Walt Disney Imagineering creative executive Scott Trowbridge said in the trailer. “It is gonna be an intense, super fun experience on the fastest ship in the galaxy.”
Meanwhile, Galaxy’s Edge attraction “Rise of the Resistance” is a prequel to The Force Awakens which allows guests to play the part of a Resistance Recruit.
It certainly sounds like an exciting experience, and we can’t wait to hear what fans think of the park.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is expected to open sometime in 2019.
