Daredevil Star Charlie Cox Confirms The Writing Team Was Working On Season 4

Netflix might have canceled Daredevil a few days after Marvel TV dropped the series third series on the site, but before the actual cancellation, the show's team had actually prepared a pitch for the fourth season of the series. Not only was Daredevil a well-loved Marvel TV series, but it had enjoyed a third batch of episodes and many had expected Netflix to greenlight the show for another season.

Speaking in an interview with Collider,Daredevil actor Charlie Cox talks more about the series' heartbreaking cancellation, admitting that the writer's room had begun working on a plan for the fourth season of the show before it got axed by Netflix.

"I know that they pitched the whole season to Netflix," Cox said. "I knew little details ‘cause typically I don't like to know the whole story whilst it's being written, but I knew the basics of the ideas that they had, and I was very excited. Based on the response that Season 3 had, I was under the impression that we would absolutely be making more seasons of television, so I was very shocked and obviously deeply saddened because I love that character and I've loved the show."

Unfortunately, the pitch didn't stop the streaming giant from taking Daredevil to the chopping board. The series was canceled despite its success, and fans were left heartbroken.

Now, many continue to hold on to the hope that Netflix might reconsider Daredevil. Not only are fans campaigning and rallying for the series, but they're also working on multiple petitions asking Netflix to bring back Daredevil into its fold.

While it doesn't seem very likely, there's nothing really wrong in trying.

All three seasons of Daredevil are available for streaming on Netflix.
