Chris Pine Reveals Details About Steve Trevor’s Surprising Return in Wonder Woman 1984

DC fans weren't expecting Chris Pine to make an appearance in Wonder Woman 1984 after Steve Trevor's heartbreaking sacrifice in Warner Brother's first Wonder Woman movie, but to everyone's surprise, the American Spy proved to be very much alive in first-look photos and trailers for the comic book movie sequel.

Speaking in a recent interview with Total Film magazine (via Heroic Hollywood), Pine talks about his role in Wonder Woman 1984 and the kind of state that the character's going to be in when fans see him in the movie.

"What I will say about him is that he's deeply, supremely excited. He's excited to be back with Diana. He's excited about this world. Tonally, what's different is, he's not world-weary. He's not jaded. It's a complete 180 from the tone of the character of the first one," the actor told the publication.

While Pine is careful not to give away details that might spoil the movie, the actor's comments seem to reveal that Steve Trevor missed out on a few years between the first Wonder Woman movie and the film's sequel.

The big reveal is definitely going to be how Steve Trevor survived the plan explosion in Wonder Woman and how exactly he finds his way to the 1980s without any knowledge of the world.

Guess we're going to see Steve take on the "fish out of water role" from Diana (Gal Gadot) in the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set to premiere on August 12, 2020.
