Chewbacca Star Admits He’s Jealous of Harrison Ford’s New Furry Friend

It looks like Chewie isn't all too happy that Harrison Ford (a.k.a. Star Wars' Han Solo) has gotten himself a new furry co-star.

Ford is set to appear in the live-action adaptation of Jack London's classic book The Call of the Wild, and the Star Wars legend just decided to share a photo of his furry co-star in the new movie. Joonas Suotamo, the new man behind Chewbacca's mask in parts of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and in the rest of Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, decided to play with the post, joking about how he was jealous of the pup.

Posting on Twitter, Suotamo shared a picture of Ford from The Call of the Wild, writing that the film "looks like it will be a fun adventure movie, but this picture makes me feel a little jealous."

Most of the time Han Solo had in The Force Awakens was spent together with original Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew. By the time Suotamo got to fully take on the role of everyone's favorite walking carpet, Han Solo had been killed off by his own son, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). So it's pretty safe to say that Ford is going to spend more time with The Call of the Wild's Buck than he ever is going to with Suotamo's version of Chewie.

Still, even though Suotamo's a bit jealous of Ford's new furry friend, we can't wait to see the Star Wars legend in The Call of the Wild.

Lucasfilm's latest release, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, is currently screening in cinemas. The Call of the Wild, on the other hand, is set for release on February 21, 2020.
