CBS Drops New Star Trek: Discovery Character Posters For Season 2

Star Trek: Discovery is making its way back to CBS All Access with the second batch of episodes this month and it looks like the network has decided to release some character posters to showcase the new and returning cast members of the series.

IGN just released the new character posters for season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery on its site, and in the new images, fans get to see returning characters like Chief Engineer Stamets (Anthony Rapp), Doctor Culber (Wilson Cruz), Ensign Tilly (Mary Wiseman) and Commander Saru (Doug Jones). Of course, we wouldn't forget Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount).

There's also a character poster for Burnham's adoptive brother, the half-Vulcan and half-human Spock (Ethan Peck). Reports say that the second series of Discovery is going to zone in on the relationship between half-brother and sister, with the younger version of the character being more emotionally charged than what fans are used to seeing.

There's definitely a whole lot of excitement over the new season. Spock is a legendary fan-favorite character, and fans are eager to see what the half-Vulcan might be like at a younger age. Discovery is going to feature an untold chapter in the character's life and everyone's excited to see his relationship with his half-sister, Burnham. But that's not all. Fans are also expecting Discovery to get a more permanent captain as it enters the new season, and right now Mirror-Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) and Ash are on the table.

"After answering a distress signal from the U.S.S. Enterprise, season two of Star Trek: Discovery finds the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery joining forces with Captain Christopher Pike on a new mission to investigate seven mysterious red signals and the appearance of an unknown being called the Red Angel. While the crew must work together to unravel their meaning and origin, Michael Burnham is forced to face her past with the return of her estranged brother, Spock."

Star Trek: Discovery returns with its second season on January 17, 2019.
