Black Adam’s Dwayne The Rock Johnson Is Ready To Roll Into The MCU

Earlier this week, Avengers: Endgame co-director Anthony Russo was asked about the Marvel Cinematic Universe role that would fit popular action star, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Johnson's been in a lot of major franchises over the past few years. He's been skidding on streets in The Fast and Furious franchise, and most recently he's been cutting through vines in jungle adventures in the Jumanji franchise. Now that the actor is set to appear in the DC Extended Universe in his own Black Adam standalone movie, fans have started wondering what The Rock might play if he were to join the MCU too.

Speaking with fans during the MTV Movie and TV Awards, Endgame director Anthony Russo declared that the best fit for The Rock would be The Rock. According to the filmmaker, the best superhero for the rock would be himself in Marvel's comic book universe.

"The superhero that I would most like The Rock to play is The Rock. He is the best version of him," Russo said.

Russo's comment somehow made its way to Johnson. Now the Rock is ready to roll into the MCU.

"I was born to play this role. Literally. I'll call you tonight Russo Bros!!! Time to rule the MCU.. forever," the actor wrote on a post on Twitter.

It looks like a done deal from here. Marvel has had quite a number of celebrity cameos before, and some have been pretty good. Fans loved the celebrity appearances in films like Thor: Ragnarok. We're pretty sure that Marvel could fit The Rock in a future Marvel movie.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
