Academy Reveals Star Wars, Marvel, and DC Actors as Oscar Presenters

Movies from Star Wars and Marvel might not have had that much recognition from the Oscars this year, but it looks like the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences is bringing in actors and actresses from Star Wars, Marvel, and DC to present the Oscars during the 92nd Academy Awards.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has just revealed the first set of presenters for the 2019 Oscars, and it looks like the academy has decided to take celebrities for the Star Wars, Marvel, and DC franchises.

According to ComicBook.com, these celebrities include Deadpool 2 and Joker actress Zazie Beetz, Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot, her Wonder Woman 1984 co-star Kristen Wiig, Avengers: Endgame actor Mark Ruffalo, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's Kelly Marie Tran. It remains to be seen what awards Beetz, Gadot, Wiig, Ruffalo, and Tran are going to present at the awards ceremony. We're also unsure of who's going to be paired with who.

Of course, these Marvel, Star Wars , and DC celebrities aren't the only ones presenting at the Oscars this year. Little Women and Call Me By Your Name actor Timothee Chalamet is also going to be presenting at the 92nd Academy Awards together with Late Night actress Mindy Kaling, Veep star Julie Louis-Dreyfus, A Star is Born actor Anthony Ramos, and Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda.

More presenters are going to be announced the closer we approach this year's Oscars.

Interestingly enough, Marvel and Star Wars hasn't been given that much recognition at the Academy Awards. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was only nominated for three categories – Best Original Score, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound Editing. Marvel didn't do any better. Avengers: Endgame was nominated for only one category, and that's Best Visual Effects.

DC, on the other hand, has done well pretty well for itself with Joker nabbing 11 nominations at this year's Oscars – the most out of any film this year.

The 92nd Academy Awards is set to air on Sunday, February 9, 2020 on ABC.
