Thor: Ragnarok’s Cate Blanchett is Excited to be Hela

There are many things to be excited for with Thor: Ragnarok. Whether you love or hate Thor's new look (I surprisingly love it) or you're even more excited by the fact that we're finally seeing what Cate Blanchett's Hela looks like (she's perfect), the threequel's finale is basically a hype-train on steroids following the reveal.

But someone is just as excited to be part of the Thor franchise, and that's none other than the Hela actress herself. Blanchett talked to Entertainment Weekly to reveal just how her role will influence the franchise, and just what her feels are with being cast as the Goddess of Death. For starters, Blanchett feels proud and excited to be part of the movement of women in this particular genre.

"There's so much untapped potential villainy in women. It's really exciting. I think finally it's beginning to be acknowledged that women and men want to see a diverse array of characters, and that's race, gender across the sexual spectrum."

To prepare for the role, she reveals reading the comics to get to know the history of the character. Her character, she reveals will basically bring all things bad to the world—and that's saying something given that Loki is on the throne.

"Everyone [in Asgard] is too perfect. Why not mess it all up? It's easy to play bad but, like when I was in Cinderella, like what makes the stepmother evil is interesting. So, it was trying to in the screen time I had to tease that stuff and to give her a journey really."

That seems to be pointing to glimpses of Hela's backstory, one which we're just excited really excited for. Case in point, Blanchett will be wearing the headdress, because it will be part of her fight scenes for manifesting weapons.

Thor: Ragnarok will be out in theaters on Nov. 3.
