Starting like your average beach episode and featuring some - in my opinion - unnecessary fanservice, Episode 5 is a flashback, with Siesta and Kimizuka having some relaxed time at the beach.
Not long after, the duo is faced with the mystery of "Cerberus," a serial killer who removes their victims' hearts. Kimizuka acts as bait for Cerberus so that they can uncover the killer's identity.
The killer is found to be a werewolf-like artificial monster that the duo is able to deal with, but Kimizuka is kidnapped by a girl going by the code name Hel. Naturally, Hel wants the famous detective's sidekick to join her, but he blatantly refuses, even when she shows off a scary biological weapon.
Now, while this was by no means an extraordinary episode, what bugged me is Hel's uncanny resemblance to Natsunagi, who currently has Siesta's heart in her chest. The red eyes and black hair are a bit too memorable to ignore, and while this could be a coincidence, I don't think it is.
By the end of the episode, Siesta has come to Kimizuka's rescue but things look tough for them. Could Episode 6 shed more light on her death?
