Stranger Things and Magic: The Gathering are Crossing-Over in New Secret Lair Drop


As part of Netflix's Geeked Week today, Wizards of the Coast has announced an exciting partnership with the streaming giant: an upcoming Magic: The GatheringSecret Lair drop featuring Netflix's Stranger Things.

While Wizards and Netflix haven't fully revealed the contents of the Stranger ThingsSecret Lair drop, we can expect major characters like Eleven, Dustin, and the monstrous Demogorgon getting featured in promotional Magic cards, similar to The Walking Dead Secret Lair drop released last year. However, as Wizards announced on Monday, the Universes Beyond (MTG products with crossover themes from other IPs) cards, like the Stranger Things Secret Lair promos, are getting their Magic in-world versions similar to the Godzilla cards from Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths.

In addition to Stranger Things, Wizards of the Coast revealed that they plan to release Universes Beyond products featuring The Lord of the Rings and Warhammer in the near future.

WotC hasn't announced when the Stranger Things Secret Lair will be released, but expect more details to come as we get closer to the release of Stranger Things Season 4, which doesn't have an official release date yet, but it's expected to release later this year. The Russo brothers-produced Magic: The Gathering Netflix animated series is expected to release next year.
