Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-Ray Coming in 3-Disc Set, Movie Heading for iTunes in March

It's long been speculated that the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray disc set is set to arrive in April, with its digital release coming a few weeks earlier. Since then, there hadn't been news or any details about the disc set. Now, new details have arrived and it appears that The Force Awakens Blu-ray will come in a 3-disc, Blu-Ray/DVD box-set.

The news comes after Blu-Ray.com updated their digital listings showing that The Force Awakens will come in two Blu-ray discs and one DVD. The disc set will retail for $27.99. The update also showed the film heading for an iTunes release on March 15. This means speculations that the Blu-Ray will arrive in April (April 15 as many are expecting) must be true.

This is exciting news since it appears we'll be getting one disc solely for extra features. There may not be any official announcement as to the contents of this extra disc, but it's highly likely to be some behind-the-scenes and deleted footage.

As always, take this news with a grain of salt since neither Disney nor Lucasfilm has made an official announcement on the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray set.

In any case, we should be expecting an announcement pretty soon.
