Lucasfilm has released a full preview pack for the highly anticipated Star Wars Rebels season 2 finale, Twilight of the Apprentice parts 1 and 2.
Yesterday, we reported the first preview released via EWshowing Ezra and a mysterious "Old Master," who appears to be Darth Maul, exploring what looked like an old Jedi temple. It came with a Rebels Recon episode which discussed the events from The Mystery of Chopper Base and which later on featured a quick clip of Twilight as well.
Now, the studio released 8 new stills of the upcoming episode featuring Ezra with a hilted lightsaber like Kylo Ren's, Kanan & Ahsoka blocked by a group of inquisitors, and not surprisingly, Darth Maul.

Meanwhile, there's new speculation that a Star Wars Rebels and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story crossover could happen sometime in the future. Rumors surfaced after Rogue One story writer Gary Whitta tweeted recently that he's working on a Rebels episode. The writer has done some work with Lucasfilm's animation branch. In May 2015, Whitta also tweeted about writing a Rebels episode. The tweet came with a photo of his daughter wearing a Rebels pyjamas while watching the series.

Fans have previously pined for a Rogue One and Rebels crossover, so it's no surprise that rumors are once again surfacing after Whitta's tweet. It's remains unclear whether the writer's first episode was for season 2 or not.
As much as we'd like to see a crossover, nothing is certain until Lucasfilm releases an official statement. It would be fan service, but I'm pretty sure a crossover has crossed the minds of Rebels' head honchos already. I think if the studios receive enough clamor, it'd be pretty hard to ignore. Of course, they could simply do one just for the fun of it.
