Star Wars: Finn and Poe’s Sexuality Won't Be Addressed In The Last Jedi

Ever since they escaped from The First Order together in The Force Awakens, fans have been shipping Finn the former Stormtrooper and Poe Dameron. While the two characters didn't get too much screen time together, the few times they did have showed some great chemistry. In spite of all this, it looks like we won't be getting an official confirmation on their relationship during Star Wars: The Last Jedi, at least according to Poe's actor Oscar Isaac.

During an interview with Collider, Isaacs mentions how he loves the reaction these characters have received from fans, despite the lack of any real confirmation. He feels that representation is very important in film and was happy to see many people connect with the character, as well as his bromance/possible romance with Finn. That being said, Isaacs did state that the film will not directly address their sexuality, though he did state that he was open to these kinds of stories.

Isaac's Poe Dameron seems to have a bigger role this time around, at least that's what been teased from the trailers released thus far. Finn will also get plenty of time in the spotlight, with his battle against Captain Phasma exciting many a fan. With all this, plus Rey's heritage, Snoke's identity, and the inner struggle of Kylo-Ren, it seems like the lack of any official confirmation is more than understandable.

Then again, Isaac could be trying to not spoil the film and we might see him make out with John Boyega. Who knows?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters this month, on December 15.
