Star Wars Episode IX Character Breakdown Reveals New Comedic Female Character

As is usually the case, we don't know much about the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX, aside from the cast, some new members, and that it will take place after last year's controversial The Last Jedi. With JJ Abrams back in the director's seat, it looks like the current trilogy is going to end in grand fashion and like previous installments, it will do so while also introducing some new characters.

That Hashtag Show has revealed a new character breakdown for the film that seems to confirm a new female character. According to the report, this new character is currently going by the name KARINA and has been described as "a younger Charlize Theron with street smarts and a sharp wit."

Interestingly enough, the studio is open to the character having any kind of accent as long as she has "a good sense of humor, solid comedic timing, and a strong voice." Diversity has been a big part of the recent Star Wars films, particularly with Rogue One, and knowing that these actors will be able to keep their accents is pretty cool.

Unfortunately, they don't say how important this KARINA is going to be but expect her to have a decent amount of screen time. She probably won't be the only new character, with Matt Smith and Dominic Monaghan reportedly joining the cast.

Star Wars: Episode IX comes out on December 20, 2019.
