Star Wars: Bill Hader Isn't Sure If He's Getting BB-8 Residual Checks

Despite some initial fears, BB-8 has proven to be one of the best parts of the new Star Wars trilogy. The droid was adorable when it debuted in The Force Awakens and was slightly overpowered during The Last Jedi but was still a treat to watch. Some fans might not know that SNL alumni Bill Hader provided the voice for the character in its debut.

Unfortunately, Hader might not be getting the recognition that he deserves.

Speaking with Business Insider, Hader was asked if he was receiving residual checks for his work as BB-8. Though he did speak positively about the experience, being a Star Wars fan and all, the comedian jokingly stated that he would check with his manager about that.

"That's a good question, I should ask my business manager," Hader said with a laugh. "You're finding out how bad I am at this. If my dad reads this he would lose his sh--. 'You gotta know how much f---ing money you have, you moron!' I mean, I would hope so."

While he did receive a credit for his work in The Force Awakens, the fact that his voice might still be used in The Last Jedi and future films could cause some errors. Hader would be within his rights to get paid for his work, though it's not clear how the contract for that job works. Hopefully, we don't get much drama from this.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is now available in Blu-Ray and digital formats, with Star Wars: The Last Jedi getting a release date soon. Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out on May 25.
