Stan Lee’s The Reflection Arrives This Month

Japan will be the first to enjoy the new animated superhero series from executive producer Stan Lee.

Variety announced that The Reflection is set to arrive on NHK on July 22—and it's bringing an interesting story with it. The Reflection will run for 12 episodes, which will follow the adventures of Xon and I-Guy, the superhero and villain respectively in the series.

The story starts after the global disaster called Reflection happens. What exactly that event is, we're not really given concrete clues, but from the event, people are granted special powers, and the two lead characters are among them.

The Reflection will be directed by Hiroshi Nagahama (Mushishi, The Flowers of Evil). Trevor Horn and Yoshiko Umakoshi are onboard as the music producer and character designer for the show. Studio Deen will do the production. Shinichiro Miki will voice Xon, while Satoshi Mikami will dub I-Guy.

I'm actually excited for the show. Apart from a slight personal favorite voice actor Miki playing he lead role, I want to see how The Reflection will be animated. Mushishi is one of those animes that has quite the slow pace, but the animation is pretty good. Perhaps Studio Deen can actually experiment on that kind of animation with a superhero setting.

I'm just waiting for the show to be released outside Japan, hopefully in the near future.

Wonder Woman's costumes are based on something historic.
