Spider-Man 3 Star Believes Sam Raimi Could Return To Make Another Movie For Spidey

It's been more than a decade since Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 made its way to the big screen, but Sandman star Thomas Haden Church believes that the director might be able to return to the web-slinger's franchise someday and make another Spider-Man film.

Taking time to speak with JoBlo, Church talked about his time working in Spider-Man 3, and during the interview the actor suggested that Raimi might be able to return for another Spider-Man movie.

"Sam's production company is still set up there and he'll always have a home at Sony, but on that particular franchise they parted ways. I think that Sam could come back to it if he was really interested if it doesn't so far past him, y'know. Sam is only like a year or two older than me. Sam's got plenty of energy and creative fuel and if they ever invited Sam to come back and do another one, I think he'd consider it, I do."

It seems like Church really believes that Sony's interference caused Raimi to leave the Spider-Man franchise, though it's quite surprising that the Spider-Man 3 star thinks that the filmmaker would come back for another movie.

For one, Marvel's already got Tom Holland as their new Peter Parker, and two, they really seem to enjoy the work of Spider-Man: Homecoming director, Jon Watts. It's highly unlikely that Raimi would work on another Spider-Man film for Sony.

Holland will reprise his role as Spider-Man in Avengers: Infinity War which premieres on May 4, 2018.
