Solo: A Star Wars Story BTS Reel Presented At Disney’s D23 Expo Japan

It looks like Star Wars fans in Japan got lucky over the weekend.

The world might have gotten their very first look at Solo: A Star Wars Story trailers which were released last week, but it seems like fans at Disney's D23 Expo Japan got to see even more exclusive footage during the Mickey Mouse House convention.

Instead of getting the same old Solo trailers, Comic Book reports that fans at Disney's D23 were given a behind-the-scenes feature of Lucasfilm's upcoming spinoff film by the movie's director, Ron Howard.

The idea of brand new footage sounds exciting, however it seems like it's still unclear what was included in the Solo behind-the-scenes reel. Fans at the event haven't shared that much about the feature video's content despite the fact that Solo continues to be one of the most highly-anticipated films of the summer.

There's definitely a lot of anticipation building up over Solo. Lucasfilm has just officially started the film's marketing campaign, and though that's quelled the anxiety that washed over the fanbase because of Solo's production shake-ups, fans are still a bit uneasy about the upcoming spinoff. We hope that Lucasfilm decides to share the behind-the-scenes reel to the general public a few days after the D23 Expo in Japan.

Here's the synopsis for Solo: A Star Wars Story:

"Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga's most unlikely heroes."

Solo: A Star Wars Story premieres on May 25, 2018.
