Solo: A Star Wars Story Preview Could Drop During Sunday’s Super Bowl After All

It looks like the first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story might pop up during the Super Bowl this weekend after all.

Despite previous reports saying that the very first preview for Solo might skip NBC's coverage of this year's NFL championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots, THR says that industry insiders are expecting Solo's first teaser trailer to drop during the Super Bowl on Sunday.

There's been a lot of anxiety surrounding Solo. Last year the film was shrouded in controversy after Lucasfilm decided to let go of the film's original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller due to creative differences, and now it seems like the studio's been delaying the film's marketing campaign. Solo's just a few months away from its release date, and yet there hasn't been a single first look photo or trailer for the highly anticipated Star Wars spinoff.

Though Lucasfilm hasn't confirmed the report saying that the teaser for Solo might air during the Super Bowl this Sunday, it's likely that the studio wouldn't want to miss out on the chance to drop the preview during this year's NFL championship. After all, the game is one of television's most high-profile events and a lot of other studios are set on taking advantage of the Super Bowl's viewership.

Solo: A Star Wars: Story hits cinemas May 25, 2018.
