CJ ENM just released a teaser trailer for the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards. With the theme "MAKE SOME NOISE," the awards ceremony will commence on December 11, 2021.
The host for the prestigious annual event is none other than the legendary solo artist Lee Hyori. She will be the first female host for Mnet Asian Music Awards. Song Joong Ki, Lee Seung Gi, Song Seung Heon, PSY, Lee Byung Hun, Park Bo Gum, and Jung Hae In have all hosted the Mnet Asian Music Awards in the previous years.

The trailer video for this year's Mnet Asian Music Awards features the expanding lights coming together to form a gigantic spiral. This encapsulates the different voices generated by global fans and musicians merging and becoming stronger through the power of K-pop.

According to CJ ENM, the concept of ‘MAKE SOME NOISE' aspires to demonstrate to the world the refreshed and modernized power of music that recognizes the worth of difference and break past stereotypes.
In particular, the teaser video presented a variety of colors and featured the voice of Lee Hyori, which piqued the interest of many.
Lee Hyori started her career as the leader of the 1st generation girl group Fin.K.L in 1998. She created a name for herself as a solo artist with her debut album in 2003. Lee Hyori also had her name flashed on several shows all throughout her rising career as a celebrity. Lee Hyori has also appeared in the reality show Hyori's Homestay and Hyori's Homestay 2 in 2017 and 2018.
Recently, she has participated in the project groups SSAK3 and Refund Sisters through the variety show Hangout With Yoo.
MAMA 2021 Includes Apple Music In Generating Data For Awards
CJ ENM also took into account the global impact of K-pop. Due to this, MAMA 2021 will include data from the streaming platform Apple Music in addition to the data from Gaon, Twitter, and YouTube, which has been included in the previous years.
Meanwhile, 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards is scheduled to take place on December 11, 2021. Compared to the earlier broadcasts, 2021 MAMA will be held in South Korea because of the ongoing pandemic.
The complete lineup for the 2021 MAMA has not yet been revealed. Voting for the award categories will start on November 4, 2021.
MAMA: The Original K-pop Awards Features Interviews From Several Artists
Mnet also announced that it would air a seven-episode special documentary starting October 28, 2021. This documentary is titled "MAMA: The Original K-pop Awards" to commemorate the 12th anniversary of Mnet Asian Music Awards.
PSY, Park Jin Young, EXO Kai, TWICE Nayeon, Sana, and Jihyo, STRAY KIDS, Super Junior, SHINee, and 2NE1 members CL, Sandara Park, Minzy, and Park Bom are scheduled to appear in the documentary.
