Sebastian Stan Is Open To Bucky Becoming Captain America

It looks like Marvel star Sebastian Stan hopes that the Winter Soldier takes up the Captain America mantle in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Stan recently spoke at a panel in Wizard World St. Luis, and the Marvel star was asked whether he'd like to see Bucky taking up Captain America's shield someday. Though Stan said that the timing had to be right so that Bucky could take over as Marvel's favorite boy scout hero, the actor seemed open to the idea of taking on Captain America's mantle.

"I mean, yeah I would love that one day, absolutely. I don't know when that day would be, and I just think…it would be a very different Captain America you know, you wouldn't be able to have the same Captain America as you have right now because he's a different guy."

According to the actor, it might take some time for the audience to accept the idea of Bucky becoming the next Captain America, given his history with Hydra.

"Again, there's this issue where we've got to get him to be trustworthy enough for them to give him that responsibility, you know, to fill those shoes, and those are hard shoes to fill. So I think it's possible, I really do, but it just has to make sense and we might need a little more time."

Stan makes a good point. The Marvel actor might have a strong following, but Bucky still needs a few more movies to prove himself worthy of Cap's shield. Hopefully he proves himself as an Avenger in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres on May 4, 2018.
