Samuel L. Jackson On Whether Nick Fury Returns To The MCU in Infinity War

Marvel fans haven't seen so much of Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe lately. Last year, Fury was absent from Captain America: Civil War just like Chris Hemsworth's Thor and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. Ever since then, fans have been wondering whether SHIELD's no-nonsense director would be returning to the big screen like a lot of the MCU characters in Avengers: Infinity War.

However, new reports indicate that Fury may not appear in the Marvel superhero showdown next year.

During a promotional tour for Kong: Skull Island, Jackson went on an interview with MTV and when asked whether he was excited to reprise the role of Nick Fury in Avengers: Infinity War, the Hollywood star answered in confusion.

"Who says I am?" the actor asked. "I don't know. I'm asking you; I'm hoping you know maybe something I don't know. Am I in that movie?"

The interviewer then replies that she saw his name on Infinity War's IMDB and Jackson holds back a laugh.

"IMDB says I am? You believe them? No, don't believe IMDB," he said. "I haven't heard from them. I don't know what's going on yet."

Though the actor did tease that he would return as Fury before, the response Jackson gave to MTV may be cause for concern. A lot of MCU stars like Tom Holland and Chris Pratt have already announced that they're in Infinity War, so Jackson holding his announcement back seems strange and worrisome. Let's hope that Jackson's just trying to keep his participation a secret for a bit longer.

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to premiere on May 4, 2018.
