Update as of 9/24/2021:Amazon is not offering anything to affected customers who did not receive codes when the beta was live.

Call of Duty: Vanguard's early access PlayStation exclusive beta is live right now and runs from September 10th through September 13th. This beta is only available on PlayStation and only accessible to those who pre-ordered the game, either physically or digitally, on PlayStation.

However, if you pre-ordered the game on Amazon, you might be experiencing issues getting your beta code. In this article, we'll explain what's going on with Amazon Call of Duty: Vanguard pre-orders.

As marketed and advertised everywhere, pre-ordering Vanguard on PlayStation entitles you access to the game's Early Access Beta, which is currently live. Amazon is no different, with the product description of Vanguard reading: "Pre-order and receive early access to the Open Beta first on PS4 and PS5."

However, many users are reporting that after pre-ordering they have not received a code from Amazon. This isn't necessarily guaranteed to happen to you if you've pre-ordered on Amazon, as some who did have received their codes.

Though a Customer Service Representative from Amazon confirmed the retailer was experiencing technical, backend issues with pre-orders at-large for Vanguard and that their Digital Content Team was hard at work on delivering a fix to affected customers.

Amazon has yet to officially comment on the issue, as likely it's not pervasive enough to warrant a public commentary, but the Representative could not confirm when a fix would arrive, allowing for the possibility beta codes might not arrive until the beta is almost done or has even ended.

Accordingly, it's well-advised to be careful when pre-ordering Vanguard for beta access on Amazon. Though Amazon does not charge you until the game actually ships, which will be next month, so there isn't much risk in pre-ordering and checking to see if your code successfully reaches you on time.

If it doesn't, Amazon will let you easily cancel a pre-order without any fuss, and once again, you won't be charged anywhere along the way, so risks are altogether low. Plus, there are many other ways to pre-order the game either digitally or physically that can even come with other goodies on top of beta access.

For example, pre-ordering Vanguard directly through the in-game Call of Duty store will net you a bundle on top of Vanguard and beta access. Then there are brick and mortar retailers out there like Gamestop where you can pre-order physical editions of the game (coming only to consoles) and get the beta code as well.

Ultimately, there are many ways to hop into this weekend's beta outside of the world of Amazon, which is good news for customers at large but bad news for anybody who wants the convenience of an Amazon pre-order. It's possible this issue will be quickly resolved, and it's important to reiterate this isn't an issue guaranteed to affect every pre-order, so it's best not to worry until there's good reason to worry. This article will also be updated to reflect any changes in the situation as they come up, but if you want the most up-to-date info out there, you can contact Amazon's Customer Service to check in at any time.

Call of Duty: Vanguard launches on November 5th, and this release will (generally) coincide with a major Warzone update: Warzone Pacific. This update will upgrade Warzone's engine from the Modern Warfare 2019 engine to the upgraded version of that engine used in Call of Duty: Vanguard as well as introduce a whole new map to the game.

The Early Access Beta for PlayStation runs this weekend, from September 10th through the 13th, but the Open Beta for Vanguard is next weekend, September 17th through the 20th, where players on all platforms will be able to try out the beta for free while enjoying cross-platform crossplay.
