Rosario Dawson Speculated To Play Ahsoka Tano In Star Wars Film Franchise

Anakin Skywalker's Padawan Ahsoka Tano may have divided the Star Wars fan base when she first appeared in The Clone Wars, however the Togruta Jedi Padawan eventually grew to become one of the franchise's most well-loved animated characters.

With Lucasfilm planning to bring more spinoffs to the franchise, fans have been hoping that they'd get to see a movie version of the character, and last February Marvel Netflix star Rosario Dawson went online to express interest in playing Ahsoka after a fan shared fan art of her as the younger version of Ahsoka.

Now according to a report by Screen Rant, Lucasfilm may be considering Dawson for the part. Apparently fans have started noticing that the Star Wars Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni and the official Star Wars twitter account have begun following Dawson on the social media platform. The Star Wars accounts don't tend o follow actors, writers or crew people who aren't involved in the project and Filoni doesn't follow anyone who isn't Star Wars related either.

Dawson has also reportedly been liking tweets from fans asking whether she's going to play Ahsoka or who are expressing excitement in seeing her as Ahsoka in upcoming Star Wars movies.

While Lucasfilm hasn't confirmed the speculations, it is possible that the studio may be bringing Dawson on board the Star Wars train – after all, Disney does have a decade and a half worth of Star Wars films planned. With so many films in the timeline, it's possible that the studio has started taking interest in bringing Ahsoka to the big screen. Ahsoka would be great to star alongside with Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi
