Tower of God is a Korean webtoon illustrated and written by S.I.U. It was then serialized in Naver Webtoon in 2010 and received English translations by Line Webtoon. Eventually, it got a merchandise and a mobile game. The popularity of the webtoon reached Japan and it was soon adapted into an anime by Telecom Animation Film.
It follows the story of a boy called Twenty-Fifth Bam. In Korean, the word Bam means Chestnut or Night. He lives beneath a mysterious tower all his life with Rachel to keep him company. One day, she entered the tower, leaving him devastated. His goal now is to see her again by entering the tower himself.
Tower of God has been one of the most awaited manhwa by readers. Its popularity paved way for the webtoon to have an anime and since then, the series’ fanbase has continued to increase. The 13 episodes of season one helped the series to be known and fans have been waiting for the second season for a while now.
Unfortunately, there are still no updates regarding the next season or if there will be any. Those who have read the manhwa believe that there is a huge chance to get another installment of the show considering how popular both the manhwa and the anime were.
It is expected that if ever a season 2 will be made, the story will proceed from where season 1 left off and two new protagonists will be introduced named Ja Wangnan and Jue Viole Grace. This could mean that there are still a lot of things that can happen in the story.
For the manhwa, the creator, S.I.U, decided to take a break in 2020 because of his back and wrist pain. He also added that he has mental health concerns that could have an impact on his work. For now, both manhwa readers and anime viewers would have to wait for an update for the manhwa and anime.
