My Hero Academia fans are all puzzled after Weekly Shonen Jump made an announcement on March 21, 2021 that chapter 306 is entitled, “The Final Act Begins”. This simple information caused fans think if the manga is really ending or is it another tactic of My Hero Academia manga creator, Kohei Horikoshi.
Fans believe that the final act and the final story are not the same. The reason for this is that the first act lasted for two years with a total of 9 story arcs. The second arc also lasted for years and had 9 story acts which is why some fans are confident that the final act mentioned in the announcement could be the same as before.
But is it or is the manga really ending for good?
Kohei Horikoshi let fans know that the series has been going on longer than expected and that an ending is already in mind.
This was not the first time that fans got an announcement like this. In fact, Kohei has been teasing the fans regarding the final act for years but it didn’t happen. He also said before that My Hero Academia won’t have a third movie but after a while, it has been announced that the third movie will be released in Summer 2021.
However, there are some fans who think that the end of the manga is coming. One possible reason is what happened in chapter 306. All for One and Tomora Shigaraki are more than decided to get Midoriya so in order to protect his classmates, he leaves UA High. He also leaves them notes explaining about his quirk.
The chapter then fast forwards and shows that Midoriya is fighting villains alone. Since Midoriya is no longer in the academy, fans think that maybe the end of the story is near.
As of the moment, fans are still left in the dark of what is going to happen to My Hero Academia. Different theories are available online but until Weekly Shonen Jump or Kohei Horikoshi makes an announcement, no one will know for sure. For now, fans will have to enjoy the story and follow Midoriya’s journey.
